What is Spot?

The spot market is a cash market where assets are traded for immediate delivery, as opposed to the forward or futures market which calls for exchanges to be made at some later date. In Forex, spot transactions are scheduled for delivery within two days, although this rarely ever takes place. If a trader holds a position for longer than two days delivery is deferred and their trades are reset by the broker at the same price.
