What is Coincident Indicator?

A coincident indicator is an economic indicator that registers change at roughly the same time as the wider economy that it describes. In other words the effects of the data are being felt by the economy as and when they are being compiled and/or reported. GDP and Industrial Production are two important coincident indicators.
